AI consultant and AI engineer for companies in Ireland

What I do
All services →What changes for an Irish or EU deployment
Irish companies work under the GDPR, supervised in Ireland by the Data Protection Commission, and increasingly under the EU AI Act, whose obligations phase in over several years. For most AI systems the practical questions are the familiar ones: what personal data the system touches, where it is processed, and who is accountable for what it produces. The answers are measured against EU law.
Working from Saudi Arabia does not mean your data goes there. A system can run where you decide it runs: on your own hardware, in your own cloud account in the EU, or split between the two. Where the engineer sits and where the data stays are separate questions, and the second one is designed in rather than assumed. Whether remote access from outside the EU counts as a transfer is a question for your data protection officer and counsel.
The calendar is workable. The Saudi working week runs Sunday to Thursday and the Irish one Monday to Friday, so Monday to Thursday are full shared working days, and the time difference leaves most of an Irish morning and a Saudi afternoon in common.
Working together
- 01Based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia: three hours ahead of Ireland in winter, two in summer

Questions
Asked before an engagement
Do you work with Irish companies from Saudi Arabia?
Yes. I have clients in Ireland as well as in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The time difference is two to three hours, and Monday to Thursday are shared working days.
Does our data leave the EU if the engineer is in Saudi Arabia?
Not unless the design sends it there. The system runs where you decide: your own hardware, your EU cloud account, or both. Whether remote access from outside the EU amounts to a transfer under the GDPR is a question for your data protection officer and counsel, and the design can be shaped around their answer.
Does the EU AI Act apply to our project?
Possibly. It depends on what the system does and the risk class that puts it in, and its obligations phase in over several years. I will flag where a design may touch it; the classification itself is a legal judgement for you and your counsel.
